Church Outdoors & BBQ Picnic at 9:30am at the Mountain View Mennonite Campground in Lyndhurst

This Sunday we'll meet for worship at 9:30 am at the Pavilion at the Mountain View Mennonite Church campground in Lyndhurst, VA. This will be a special worship service as we mark the end of our journey through the Story of the Bible. We invite you to come ready to share a short reflection of how God has spoken to you as we've read through Scripture together. After the worship service we'll celebrate together with a catered Barbeque picnic.

The campground is located on Mount Torrey Rd, just past Sherando Lake and directly across from Reed's Gap. This is where we had our camping weekend and Church Outdoors last September. If you'd like to put an address in your GPS to find it, you can enter 55 Love Rd, Lyndhurst, VA, which is the address of the church -- just keep in mind that the campground will be on your right before you arrive at the church.

Pastor Seth Sabbatical

After praying and discussing with the elders, Pastor Seth and Melissa have made the decision to take an 8-week sabbatical starting Monday, September 21st. This sabbatical will be a time for rest and renewal for their family. While they're away, our elders will continue to provide oversight and leadership for the church body. We pray that God would bless the Hankee family during this time as they rest and prepare for future ministry at Greenmonte!

Life Groups Launching This Week

Our Greenmonte life groups are launching this week. Life groups are a great way to connect with others outside of the Sunday worship service. In life groups we encourage and support each other as we seek to know and love Jesus together. Check out our life group page on our website to sign up for the group that works best for you. "We've Been Here Before" On Sunday Pastor Seth discussed some ways that the church responded to the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918. Christians had to wrestle with many of the same issues that we're dealing with today during COVID-19. If you're interested in learning more, you can read this article. Discover Love INC Orientation Love INC is a local Christian ministry that provides churches with opportunities to serve their communities with Christ's love. They are currently in need of volunteers for their thrift stores, particularly the store in Fishersville. If you'd like to get involved, you're invited to attend a Discover Love INC Orientation class on Zoom. Just visit their sign-up page for more information. Motorcycles for Missions The Motorcycles for Missions ride, which is a fundraiser for Virginia Mennonite Missions, will be taking place this year on September 11-12. You can join the motorcyle ride in Harrisonburg or Powhatan.
