Letter From Pastor Seth
Greetings Greenmonte Family,
I trust that you are well. It was a joy to worship with you in person on Sunday and to see many of your faces for the first time in months. What a blessing to be a church gathered together both outdoors and in our homes for church online.
CHURCH OUTDOORS & A PICNIC THIS SUNDAY
I wanted to give you an update about a slight change for worship this week. Due to the nice weather, we decided to meet outdoors again this Sunday. We'll meet once again at the home of Rob and Peggy Langellotti. With warmer weather arriving, we're going to move our start time up to 9:30 am. Following our worship service outdoors, everyone has been invited to bring their own picnic lunch and stick around for some additional fellowship time. No food will be provided.
IN THE EVENT OF INCLEMENT WEATHER, WORSHIP WILL MOVE INDOORS @ 10:15 AM
In the event of any inclement weather this Sunday, the outdoor service will be moved indoors to Greenmonte. We'll follow the weather forecast closely this week and alert you to any changes by Saturday afternoon. If we do meet indoors for worship at Greenmonte due to the weather, we request that everyone age 10 and older observe the governor's mandate and please wear a mask. The sanctuary has been appropriately prepared to seat people in accordance with social distancing guidelines.
CHURCH ONLINE AT 10:15 AM THIS SUNDAY
If you'll be joining us for church online this Sunday, you can tune in at the normal time of 10:15 am.
NEW VIDEO MINISTRY & SOUND BOOTH
We're excited to announce the creation of a new video ministry and a new and improved sound booth. Our new sound booth will allow us to better accommodate our current audio/visual ministry team while making space for our new video ministry. The video ministry will allow us to live stream our services on a variety of media platforms and enable us to extend our ministry reach beyond our doors. A special thank you to Ricky and Cory Sandridge and Jamie Humphries for their work on this project which is almost complete.
CHALLENGING TIMES: A CALL TO PRAYER
It's been a very difficult week for our nation. George Floyd's death at the hands of a white police officer touched (once again) on a deep pain that has existed in our nation for centuries regarding race and power. The public outcry over that act of police brutality sparked nationwide, lawful protests and calls for systemic change. Tragically, lawless people have taken the opportunity to use violence and looting to bring about social instability in our nation's urban areas.
On a personal note, all these things that I've read about and watched (in the news) the past few days have produced feelings of anger, helplessness and sadness. I've been struggling to know what to do & how we are to respond. Once again I've realized the most powerful action we can take is to pray. Ephesians 6:18 tells us to "pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere."
I'm sure that many of you are also feeling this same urgency to pray and intercede. This is an important time for us to stand united praying for our nation in the following ways:
Let us unite in prayer for our nation and walk by the Spirit, demonstrating God's Kingdom, bringing His love and light into the darkness.
I look forward to joining together in prayer with you this Sunday as we gather for worship.

- Pray for a great move of God to bring healing and reconciliation to our nation.
- Pray that God would work in our own hearts to identify any sin and cleanse us.
- Pray that God will help us have empathy for others.
- Pray for our leaders to have the wisdom and courage to act justly and to keep and restore order.
- Pray that God would make us a light in this dark time and demonstrate His love through us.
Let us unite in prayer for our nation and walk by the Spirit, demonstrating God's Kingdom, bringing His love and light into the darkness.
