News for July 8, 2020

We had a great time at our Putt-Putt Night Out last night. Congratulations to Penelope for getting the first hole-in-one!
Worship Plan for Sunday, July 5th
This Sunday we'll meet at 9:30 am at the home of Randy & Liza Peltola. Their address is 53 Spring Branch Lane, Waynesboro.

The Peltola neighborhood is accessed by a one-lane road. Please yield to oncoming traffic by waiting at turns or pulling into someone's driveway (the shoulder is too narrow for pulling over). When you reach Spring Branch Lane, keep bearing left to stay on the paved road, which will lead you through a white fence marked with #53.

We will be worshiping in the Peltolas' front yard. In addition to lawn chairs or a blanket to sit on, please feel free to bring a pop-up canopy, umbrella, or whatever else you might need to protect yourself from the sun. You're also invited to bring your own picnic lunch and stay after the service for some additional fellowship time.

In the event of any inclement weather this Sunday, the outdoor service will be moved indoors to Greenmonte at 10:15am. We'll follow the weather forecast closely and alert you to any changes by Saturday afternoon. If we do meet indoors for worship at Greenmonte due to the weather, we request that everyone age 10 and older observe the governor's mandate to wear a mask. The sanctuary has been appropriately prepared to seat people in accordance with social distancing guidelines.

Facebook Live This Sunday
This Sunday we will be livestreaming our outdoor service exclusively on Facebook at 9:30am. We will NOT be posting a service on our greenmonte.online.church platform. If worship is moved indoors at 10:15 due to weather, we will livestream that service on Facebook.

To watch our service via Facebook Live, just go to our Facebook Page. Also, if you go ahead and "Like" our Facebook page, then the service will show up on your Facebook newsfeed as well.

Jesus' Ministry Begins
Our Bible reading this week is:
Matthew 3-4, 11, Mark 1-3, Luke 8
John 1-4

If you're reading in The Story book, this is Chapter 23. As you read, we encourage you to journal, pray, and share what you're learning with others.

Memory Verses: Matthew 3:16-17
As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, 'This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.

Greenmonte Youth at Lofton Lake: This Saturday
The youth (6th through 12th grade) are having a picnic and swimming/kayaking/canoeing at Lofton Lake this Saturday, July 11, from 12 - 3. Pack your own lunch. Text Dane Barr (540-290-1037) if you have any questions.

If you're using your GPS to find Lofton Lake, please be aware that the GPS might send you to the wrong location. Here are directions:

Directions to Lofton Lake from Greenmonte Fellowship:Turn right out of the parking lot onto Rte 608. You will go approximately 5.5 miles and turn right at the Lofton Lake road sign. The last 1.2 miles is a long straight stretch. At the end you will go down a hill and Lofton Lake Road will be at the bottom of the hill. Caution! GPS might tell you to turn right at Newton Road. Do not do this. Go past Newton Road, down the hill to Lofton Lake Lane. Once you are on Lofton Lake Lane, follow it about .4 miles to parking signs.

How to Make Sure Greenmonte Emails Show Up in Your Inbox
Several people have had the problem recently of suddenly not seeing Greenmonte emails in their inbox, when they had previously been receiving them regularly. If that happens to you, it's likely that your e-mail has routed Greenmonte e-mails into your "Promotions" tab or folder. This happens periodically as your e-mail provider changes its filtering algorithm to try to protect you from junk mail.

Greenmonte normally sends a couple e-mails a week. If you notice that you suddenly stop receiving our e-mails, please check your Promotions tab - they might be there.
There are a few things you can do to make sure that our e-mails continue to show up in your main inbox.

1) If a Greenmonte e-mail is sent to your Promotions or Junk tab, drag or move the e-mail back to your main inbox. This should alert your e-mail provider that you want to see e-mails from us.

2) You could also just get rid of your Promotions tab so that all your e-mails are immediately visible.

3) Add Greenmonte (greenmontefc@gmail.com) as a contact to your address book so that your e-mail knows we're a trusted sender.

Waynesboro City Revival

You're encouraged to bring your unbelieving friends. If you're interested in being part of this event, whether sharing a testimony, praying with new believers, leading worship one night, or helping out in any way, please contact Mike Adams at (540) 256-4642.
